Embossing!

Wow..I finally got my new embossing heat gun from American Crafts and Ranger embossing glitter powders. Having seen other crafters create awesome embossed cards made me want to try a hand at it. And I truly loved it..its effect on the card is awesome!:)..
This is my first embossed card to congratulate my mother-to-be friend and wish her joy expecting!:)

I stamped the image (from Heartfelt images) and sentiment using Versamark ink and used black rainbow glitters embossing powder.

Quilled Animals!

It was M's best buddy's birthday and I wanted to make a kiddo type card for her. I wanted to have cute little animals on my card and looked at using some digi images. But I was not quite sure of my coloring skill and gave up that idea:(.I need to explore and learn the art of coloring. Then quilling came to my aid (as usual), and I came up with these..

I loved how the giraffe has turned out..but guess my elephant (is that one?.. you may ask!:) needs some shape up..I think I might have dozed off a bit while doing this..as I quilled these very late at night..Next morning, hubby (laughingly) told me that the giraffe and mouse has turned up well except for the longgg nose..is that a trunk he then asked!! M couldn't identify first, but I made sure that she recognised it as Elly, after giving one or two..okay..maybe few clues though!:)

I am entering this card for Wee Memories Challenge #60.

CAS Style card

I am seeing more of CAS style cards and am totally loving it. I wanted to play along in the CAS-ual Friday challenge this week and the Color Block theme has not been out of my mind. This is my entry for the challenge and I am happy on the outcome. The sentiment was done using the ginger theme letters from American Crafts and I like the way it neatly fit within the card. Luckily I had some rhinestones that matched the colors in the card and glued them to make it better:)

Father's Day Layout

Scrapbooking was always fun and I enjoyed creating layouts, before I entered card making that totally kept me hooked!. I very badly wanted to scrapbook again and I chose to come up with a Father's day layout for my hubby.

I did not work on any particular layout sketches, but wanted to keep it simple and easy... I generally don't like to have too much of free space on my layouts and try to pitch in something to fill them.

Altered Photo Frames

I am sooo happy that my friends Ash  & Tejal remembered my special day and sent me their wishes along with a beautiful card..thanks dears..
The butterfly is awesome and I just lovvvvedd the color, the sentiments and everything about the card.:)

This time I have altered a few photo frames.. and I am happy that they came out well...
Just like cards, you can use patterned papers on these frames to create the desired background..embellish them and add sentiments too..
I made three in all.. 2 of which I have posted here..I missed to get a pic of the 3rd before gifting it to my friend.

First
-----
Painted the plain wooden frame with dark brown acrylic and glued the patterned paper using modpodge. Edged the frame with gold color ink to sort of give it a vintage(?) look..
Embellished with a handmade flower, stamped  butterflies, punched flowers, blings and buttons.

Second
------
Created the base of the frame with the patterned paper. Quilled some flowers and leaves and embellished with buttons and blings. Here I stamped the sentiment using distress inks.

I have entered the frame to {Ippity} Opportunity challenge and Wee Memories

My dear friend Priya had given birth to a sweet little boy. Just minutes before leaving home to see her at the hospital, I made this little card for the little one....(sorry for the poorly shot pic)

I stamped the stars on plain white cardstock to create a background.
The blue teddy with balloon is a digi image from mygrafico.
