Flower Pot Card!!

Bing.. Bang..Boom!..Diwali has come!!!..crackers, chakras and flower pots sparkling around...am having a wonderful time..enjoying mom-made sweets and savouries..:)..with the sound of crackers in the background...Now these flower pots reminded me to share pictures of a card that I had created some time back.
This card here is not of the cracker type, but of the small flower pots type where you actually plant flowers:))
This was created on the lines of a wonderful tutorial at http://www.splitcoaststampers.com.

The inside of the card is as below..
I dedicate this card to my family and my dear friends. Wish you all a very Happy & Safe Deepavali.
Have a blast!!!..

Sweet Little Sunshine!!

Amidst creating cards, I wanted to scrapbook a page of my daughter. Tejal's awesome card here provided me with a wonderful theme to create the scrapbook layout. I created the rainbow with the tutorial provided by Michele Kovack, but I must admit that cutting the layered colored cardstocks was quite difficult for me.
I sponged the base white cardstock using light blue dye ink to get the sky effect. I wanted the Sun to be quite different and wondered if I could make the spiral shape to resemble the rays. It worked and I really loved the outcome:). The black birds are quilled ones too (sorry for the poor photography).. I added the red blings at the last minute to look like fruits on the tree:). such last minute ideas seem to work!!!

It was total fun creating this page with way too many ideas and possibilities.  I had to force myself to avoid cluttering it with too much detail and bring it to a finish..lol.

I am entering this project for CraftyJC Challenge 3 – Be Inspired with my inspiration coming from Tejal's card. Thanks for looking.

My PRECIOUS!!

This is my second scrapbook page. My first was a mini scrapbook album created by following the mini album tutorial by Fabulously Artsy. You can check out her site for more wonderful tutorials. I should remember to get some pictures of the mini album and share it here.

My daughter is the inspiration for this layout. The photos were taken when she was 8 months old. I have stitched the edges of the base cardstock to give a border. The pink patterned paper is from Rock Star stack by DCVW.

The heart frame was pencil drawn and handcut from PP (Floral Prints paper Stack, DCVW). I had got a Tim Holtz mask and I wanted to try it out and I loved the way the journal tag (jst a tag, not much of journaling though.:))) came out using the mask.

The sentiment is done using foam glitter alphabets, except for the "O" which is a button and reads "I love You" !!!. just love the button.. The rose on top of the letter "i" is handmade by cutting a spiral strip of paper and curling using a toothpick!!!.. got it from some tutorial on the net (I should remember to make note of these sites with wonderful tips as I come across!).

Bouquet of Flowers!!

I am really hooked on to Quilling (who is not!!) and created this birthday card with quilled bouquet of flowers. Have added blings to the centers of the red flowers to give a sparkle. Luv the tic tac ribbon and wanting to use it often.
The PP is from Pocket full of Posies.. the papers are lovely with wonderful floral designs and teeny tiny blings on them... and the sentiment is hand written..

Season's Greetings

My whole inspiration to start a blog began with this card and what better way to start than with a Greeting!!!. Cardmaking is new to me and Crafty JC's first ever challenge urged me to create this card.  Though this card is not a recent creation, I wanted to share this as it is my first ever handmade card. I came across Quilling at the same time and loved the way I could incorporate it into scrapbooking and cardmaking. You can say, I am hooked onto Quilling!.
The card depicts the 4 seasons of the year all done using quilling.  I loved the way the sun, snowflake and the flower had turned out, though I felt that the autumn leaf could have been better.  The sentiment is also done with quilling.
